I have been looking forward to blogging Lauren and Pat's wedding since the moment I departed from their wedding night. I am elated with how absolutely effortless and beautiful this day was. I MEAN, just wait until you scroll down and see all of the love. I hope it brings you as many heart eye emoji's as it brought me.
These two people share a truly special relationship not only together, but with their families as well. SO MUCH LOVE filled this day and I personally felt it everywhere and at any given second throughout the day. I tend to get emotional at some point during the weddings I shoot - I really try and take the time to get to know each couple prior to their wedding day. I feel like it is the best way to document such a monumental day in their lives. Lauren and Pat's special day was no exception. I had a full blown ugly cry at one point during the night because I was so deeply touched, moved, and overwhelmed. That is 1.) when you know you love your job and 2.) when you know you have something very unique in front of your lens.
Lauren and Pat have been together since high school, so this day had been a long time coming. As an outsider, these two have clearly encountered the best moments life has to offer, the most challenging moments life has to offer, and the most joyful moments life has to offer. Their true partnership and love has seen them through all of these occurrences. That's when you know you have a forever. Oh, and these two are best friends! That is something I should very strongly convey. Their playful companionship makes marriage look dreamy.
A couple of my favorite moments from the day: a song in honor of Pat's father who was unable to attend their wedding day. The entire wedding joined on the dance floor to honor this very apparent adored and special man. What really got me was the song choice, "My Old Man" by Zac Brown Band. *Cue where I started bawling like a baby.* Not one person was in their chair during this portion of the evening and it was amazing! Another favorite was when Pat grabbed his moms hand walking back down the aisle with his beautiful bride on his other arm. You can see that image below. And finally, Lauren sharing a special moment with her dad before the ceremony with her mom, sister, and best friend in the background to share in on the moment. SO. GOOD.
Sometimes we get so caught up in the moment that photos are the best way to remind us of that moment in time or that something happened without us even realizing.
Thank you Valaika's for having me a part of your wedding day! Here are some of my favorite highlights from their wedding...
