BRAD + MICHELLE // ENGAGEMENT SESSION // FORTY STEPS, NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND
Now that I have settled in to be back home here in LA, I'm finally catching up on work and updating my website. This past month has been a whirlwind and has come and gone so quickly. But, isn't that always how it is when something is highly anticipated?
Brian and I flew out to New York secretly towards the end of August for Brian's brother, Brad, to propose to his longtime girlfriend and one of my best friends, Michelle. If you follow me on social media, you probably saw the insanely special and emotional day! You can play it back in my highlights if you didn't get to see it or stalk our feeds. ;) Needless to say, it was a perfect day and I'm so glad Brad asked us to be a part of it.
You've also probably noticed if you follow me on social media that the four of us are EXTREMELY close. There is hardly a day that goes by where we haven't spoken - even 3,000 miles away. Its definitely hard being away from them, considering every time we are together we are having the BEST time, even when it's doing nothing but eating pizza. I feel so grateful how closely bonded us four are and that we all genuinely enjoy each others company as much as we do. I know it doesn't always end up that way between siblings, in-laws, etc.
Anyway, enough about the four of us...lets focus on what this post is really about which is Brad and Michelle! I literally waited almost five years to photograph these two. FIVE YEARS. FIVE FREAKING YEARS. So, when the day finally came, it was VERY emotional for me. But, at this point you all probably know I'm a cry baby about this stuff. This was extra special because while yes we are pretty much, basically, already related, I love them so much as a couple. They compliment each other so well and feels like they were made for one another. I know that sounds rather cliche, but they have an uncanny way of loving, calming, supporting and understanding each other. They love the other hard and know they aren't perfect, and I think thats why it works so well. Theres no facade, no highlight reel - they are just GOOD TOGETHER. It's really special.
I'm so proud of how they did during this shoot! It was their first time being professionally photographed FOR REAL and they absolutely crushed it. They were such naturals. The four of us went to Rhode Island for a quick getaway, so we woke up at sunrise to shoot their session at the beach. It was EVERYTHING! Rhode Island is such a beautiful place and if you get the chance to go, you definitely should. I can't wait to go back again in the future!
Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of this time in your lives. While I won't be photographing your future wedding (cause I'll be a part of the wedding - DUH!), I really appreciate you giving me the honor of shooting your proposal and engagement photos. I could not possibly love you both more. You both mean the world to me, are my family, a constant, and I can't wait for a lifetime of memories together!
And without further ado...ENGAGEMENT PHOTO HIGHLIGHT BELOW...YES!
